Helen's doing the happy dance!
Well - I'm doing the happy dance today.
While I'm still oscillating between 143 and 146 (I think mainly due to the odd Diet Coke and other miscellaneous Aspartame doses that meld water to my thighs quicker than white on rice...) I went to Value Village today for a treasure hunt.
What did I find?
Wow - lots of skirts that my wardrobe was sorely lacking and a couple of jackets (cool funky ones!) to keep my new wardrobe growing.
I was jumping for joy when I was still able to fit in the 7/8 skirts - and my jackets are 8 or medium. I still can't believe how just 9 months ago, I was perusing the aisles at Value Village (at that time, trying to find clothes for a costume for a play I was in) but couldn't find anything in the 18-20 size - and getting so frickin' frustrated with myself.
Now I'm shopping there just to find the oh-so-inexpensive treasures such as Danier, Liz Clairborne, Laura, MEXX, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Roots and loads of others great clothes for a fraction of the price, but in sizes I can fit in!!
I'm just so excited. It's a whole new world open to me again.
Yahoo!!
While I still want to get back to my 140, to give myself a little more breathing room, I'm happy as a clam.
I was going to go back on the program this week, but with so many big bills coming in the next few months (municipal taxes, house insurance, etc., etc...ugghh) I'm going to have to wait.
I figure I'll stick it out and go on the my own until April - and if I need some help to get to my 140 (or perhaps even 135 for bikini season) I'll do the Tune-Up program.
In the meantime, three cheers for me for holding my own and living-on-Maintenance!
It works, but it's a constant conscious effort.
Baby steps...baby steps. If I indulge one day, it's two days of strict.
Easy does it....in my new Danier skirt and funky Chanel-esque tweed 3/4 sleeve jacket. ;-)

Sincerly,

Unfortunately, it's been very difficult for me to stay the course. Work change, life stress, etc., suffice to say I need to return to strict.
I have gone back to the clinic a few times, but once you've enjoyed peanut butter and wine again, it's hard to stay disciplined. Plus, my clinic no longer does the bloodwork inhouse, so we have to go to a private clinic monthly at an additional $60-$80 cost for that.
Forget it - you're better to go on the Facebook group page Dr. B's Diet at Home - lots of free resources, great motivation and tips. Much more affordable ;-)
Good luck!
Thank you so much for you advice... I'd love to save the money and being as I'm so nervous about spending that much on the diet, perhaps I would be better off to just try to do it on my own. Extra Vitamin B, Potasium and Magnisum for me. I'll check the Dr. B Diet at Home page. If ti works and I start losing it will be a win/win - I'll save myself some cash and hopefully lose some extra pounds!
Thanks again!
